Behind the Scenes: Promotion Video

Behind the Scenes: Promotion Video

When is the last time you have watched a music video? Not many people realize that a lot goes into making a video, until you are actually a part of the process! Come behind the scenes with us to get a glimpse of what it was like to shoot our latest promotion video.

On March 26th we headed over to the Bisong Art Gallery to meet with the Creative Director, Tyler Kay Reichert, who was a great host while we shot in the venue.
A total of six wonderful models/actors brought each scene to life with their presence. Our models/actors were Anthony @just_anthojr, DeAngelo @deangelosc, Isis @officialisisalliniecereed, Cherilee @davischerilee, Jennifer @jonescj01, and C.C. @simplycclive. I even stepped in to cover for an absentee, as an intern you do whatever you can to help!
Our lead actress/model, C.C. @simplycclive, was prepped by Sabrena @mua_sabrena, who did an amazing job with her makeup. Her hairstylist, Ayri @lady_ayri_naturals  pulled up her hair into a beautiful afrocentric bun to compliment her attire; accessories from @eturnercouture: Fearlessly Chic statement necklace, large denim bangle, and small Ankara bangle, mullet gown in pale pink, and Geneva clutch by Kisa @kisakisafashion. I have to say, our jewelry put that added "umph" to the final look, that a strand of pearls or a diamond necklace could never pull off... just saying.

We quickly set up each scene and handed the reigns over to our videographer Que @q.s_productions. His impressive camera equipment enabled him to get EVERY ANGLE POSSIBLE. He did a great job at capturing each scene to not only inform others about our brand, but to also tell a story.

Now that you have an idea of what was involved in the making of the video, let's transition to the music aspect of it.
Our good friend Eutearia @touronroman, who is a spoken word artist, created a written piece that personified the beauty of our brand perfectly. Her piece describes a confident woman who expresses culture, art, and style in her own unique way.
While other families are spending time at home on a Sunday evening, that time was spent working! It was the most convenient day for everyone to meet up and record Euteria's spoken word piece at her home. The crew: Ellana Turner and her two children, Tiffani Hubbard, her husband, Marcus Hubbard and their son, Euteria Hubbard, her husband, Malcolm Hubbard and their two children were all under one roof! The children and a few of their friends were downstairs and the adults were upstairs recording in Euteria's son's bedroom.

Everyone really came together to ensure the recording was a success. It's such a blessings to have talented friends who are willing to jump in when needed.

We learned and gained a lot from this entire experience: starting from writing out each scene, casting actors, hiring a videographer, recording the spoken word piece for the video, and so much more.
I will never look at another music video/promo video the same way again.
